Hi everyone, we wanted to take a minute to introduce ourselves and say hello to all our old and new Good Capital community members.
Hi I’m Monica Meng, co-founder of Good Capital and Director of Business Development. I am the force behind our public presence. If you’re wondering who writes all these newsletters and blog posts, spoiler alert, it’s me! I’m also responsible for our online and social media presence which if you aren’t following us on, you can find us on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. Monica drives our partnerships through speaker gigs, workshop hosting, podcasting, and online features. Aside from Good Capital, Monica has some other notable accomplishments as well, including Byram Hills High School Astronomy Club founding member and president. She’s an endless adventure seeker at heart, never content with the status quo, always up for a challenge. She can be found exploring the great outdoors, enjoying yet another pandemic date night at Wegman’s, or working with others to make the world a better place for us all.
Saving the best for last, the star of our show is Gideon Cohn, our co-founder and wealth manager. He has his CFP® certification, his Series 63 and Series 7 licenses. Without him, none of us would know what to do with our money! Gideon works with our clients to help them become impact investors. Those brilliant financial and investment management plans personalized for each of our clients? That’s all Gideon! In addition to reviewing macro-eceonomic strengths and weaknesses, evaluating position performances, and conducting investment due diligence Gideon spends much of his time talking with clients one-on-one, addressing their personal financial situations. He is a true partner whom you want on your life team.
Fun facts: Gideon is an excellent salsa dancer, a skill he picked up from his study abroad in Cuba. Next time you see him, be sure to ask him to show you his moves. He also aspires to be able to complete every Sporcle quiz out there.
Monica and Gideon are not only business partners, but also life partners! Gideon is often our idea generator while Monica is our executor. We both ponder and research non-stop about how we can be and do better. How can we make our investments more sustainable. What else could we be doing to provide more value to our clients. What can we do to further our collective values and vision for the future?
